Given the increasing need for professionals to work with children and families, the goal of this session is to help clinicians feel that they have the knowledge and skills to coach parents while treating children with behavioral symptoms. Learning objectives will be to distinguish key parenting styles and how they impact childhood behaviors, positive discipline methods into behavioral plans, explain key ways parents can provide appropriate recognition of growth in childhood behavioral symptoms, understand key ways how parenting approaches impact childhood braindevelopment and familial trust and learn key exploration questions for parents into therapeutic treatment.

Meet our instructor: Hakikat Sahota, LPCC13051, earned her Masters in Clinical & Counseling Psychology from Columbia University, along with her Bachelors in Child Development from University of Washington. Hakikat works with children of all ages, including their families & caregivers, in her clinical work.
